Say hello too...........
the newest member to the NASA amauter racer ranks
yep that's right................................ it's me
Now that I have rested ....................... it is time for the weekend in review
I must first thank some people for this...............
Corey, not only for being a top notch friend but also for getting the car ready during a hectic work schedule and pushing me to be good enough to do this
Elyse Politi and the Politi family, Elyse had enough faith in me to recommend me to the Cobettos for this school, I wish she could have been there this weekend but understand that her business comes first but Alicia and Tony were there supporting me and watching
George, Bryan , Heather and the rest of you that made the effort to ask how things were going and be there to support me
the Cobetto's for taking me on late and trusting I would not be a diasaster on track
Everyone else who over the past year who asked when I was gonna get out there and race, and were actually excited when I said very soon
the weekend started out a little sour, the car developed a hiccup in the rev limiter some where and would go in limp mode when reving out 3rd and 4th gear, though be it frustrating it was driveable and I survived the first day
the second day was awesome to say the least, I got the bug fixed in the car and went out in my first free session and drove the wheels off the car, you H3 guys better watch out in the carousel, the car is fast in the bottom section of the track, I was hualing major *** around and the car wanted more, Corey was able to run the car in Sundays small bore race (thanks JJ) and ran some 1:35's on the setup we had, which makes me really happy.
things I noticed:
1. being strapped in made me 100 times more aware of everything, from corner stations to other cars on track
2. things happen 25 times faster at race pace, you have to be there mentally or you are screwed
3. I am more comfortable at speed than I ever thought I was going to be, hell I dropped 2 off seideways on the outside of 1 with Payton next to me and never dropped a beat
4. sideways through 9 with a water covered windshield can be really exciting
5. there is no reason to be so aggressive you hit someone
6. I need a bigger suit than Corey wears
see you boys and girls at Summit

Congrats Morgan. And welcome to the club. This club doesn't like to hit other cars...rather, it likes to put on clean, close races like we saw last year. Good to have you along (finally!)

Don't EVER FORGET THIS! I soooo believe in the above statement. I wish everyone else did, too.
