Default Best thing to do w/ $1400 on a 4th gen?

Figured y'all might help me out on this one... got an intake, an exhaust, all the clear lights incl. altezzas - was looking towards a body kit and definitely a paint job but anyone have any other suggestions?

id do the swap dude. thats what im about to do. also, ive found that if you check junkyards around you first, then you might pay a lot less for a new engine than they want on the internet

I dunno... but you got the screen name I waned. If I were you, I'd get the Wings West RS body kit, some lowering springs, and a nice cat-back exhaust system... like the Apexi World Sport. Dont get clear corners. I havent seen any that fit as nice as stock and IMO they look worse. Good luck

$1400. Here we go. this is just a quick breakdown, but its your money.

$100 - Change back to stock headlights. If you want to know what to do to your altezza's check here.

Ok, now that thats outta the way, you have $1300.

$200 - AEM CAI
$300 - DC Sports header, (not the best, but will help)
$500 - Apexi WS exhaust
$200 - professional detail (if your the lazy type)
$50 - Oil change (if your the lazy type)
$50 - 1 case of beer, and food. (mandatory for installing performance parts)

Hope this helps.

Save more toward a motor swap or a turbo

All depends if youre looking for performance before looks or vice versa,

If performance is your thing- Vtec swap is right in you budget, but while doing the swap I would HIGHLY recommend spending another $400 and swap T. Belt and get a EXedy clutch(performance) not OEM!

If your about looks and like the torque the H23
has:
Get Rims first and get springs(H&R or Neuspeed) or if you go coilovers go with Ground control or Skunk 2... I would also Highly recommend getting either koni Yellows
or AGX adjustables.

Either way the $$$ will be well spent, and also with both this is part 1 of an endless journey to make your car the PERFECT car:d

Good luck

Good god, everyone in here worships the freakin H22 w/o question!

If he already has the H23 and wants some decent speed, he can do a good bit w/ the H23, and STILL have the low-down torque that snaps your head back.

I'd say do some simple stuff and invest in some rims and suspension stuff, if you're not goin all-out speed. You'll appreciate the handling mods more

Well Liz, firstly welcome to the board. Second, I would go after the suspension mods. You have the basic stuff for the engine so go after the suspension stuff now if you like to do "spririted" driving. Otherwise, I'd say to get the paint job and a Wings West bodykit. They aren't the most aggressive but unless you want to spend another grand in body shop work, WW is the way to go. Great fitment and a clean look without raising the stock of Bondo.

OK, I noticed that most of you suggested getting rims & the suspension upgrade... I forgot to mention that I already have rims, not the best tires in the world but that can wait and boyfriend had lowering springs and then coilovers on his accord & it made that car shake like I can't even describe so I have since said no lowering springs or coilovers (the coilovers make it bounce like your on a trampoline going down the road), but I've heard a few opinions on the VTEC engine - something about it would be better just to get a turbo put on my current engine instead of getting the VTEC?

Ok $1400 is the play money you have?

It sounds like your in to looks a little more than performance... I have a body kit for sale front air dam, side skirts, and rear... It needs some repair on the front I'll send some pics Im willing to let it go for $350.00 Everyone has suggested a swap. Idunno about everyone else but w/ a jdm engine w/ low miles and installation your going to spend between $2500-$3500 easyI have other used cosmetic parts for sale for 4th gen ludes. You can e-mail me @ digitaled03@yahoo.com

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by LudeyKrus &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">If he already has the H23 and wants some decent speed, he can do a good bit w/ the H23, and STILL have the low-down torque that snaps your head back</TD></TR></TABLE>

The h22 makes more torque and is geared steeper then the H23, so once your snapped-back head comes forward again, you will see the taillights of an H22. haha
