Default 13.81 sec down the qauter mile at CMI yesterday (sat)

I was CMI in Sacramento for the imoprt national test n' tune. I was running 14.2 and 14.05 but couldn't break into the 13's. Finally my final run my 60ft was 2.0 and my best time was 13.81.

I was using stock rims with michelin racing slicks 205/50/15

What mods? Those are drag racing slicks I'm guessing. I've never heard mention of them before.

How much interior did you have in the car? What was the weight of the car?

I know that I was trying to learn a new set of tires, looks like I still don't have the pressure and launch rpm down

Which model?

Are you using road race tires to drag race? If so, the stiff sidewall is working against you.

Time to get some slicks buddy...you should be able to hit low 13's or maybe into the 12's if you strip the whole interior...but good times tho on street slicks ...you have a PY R with a red jdm recaros right...if so i think i see you around capitol expwy...

Then how do your wheels spin? And its probably not to good of an idea to go drag racing when you think your axles are about to break.

207 whp @ 132 lb-ft?

sounds to me like you got a lot of peak power.. but lacking area under the curve. That can expalin your times

What's kinda tires do you have now Austin?

I'm the dude with PY ITR with black bumpers w/ John's headers.
My best run that Sat. was 13.3 and I break into 12s that Sunday morning!
12.9 @ 105 with a 1.9x 60ft time. Car weighs 2250lb without driver (I weigh 170lb)
I used Kosei K1 15x7 and M/H 23 x 7.5 x 15 and I can't seem to get traction in
first gear. Yes, first time in my life I drag using slicks. Oh, I dyno'ed at 188whp and 140tq.

Same here. Not trying to be mean but those times are pretty slow for 207whp. I would think low 13's high 12's. Anyone notice how low the torque is for 207whp

So that was you ...now it makes sense I believe that my car is ~2650, I was running full interior and as you now I'm not the lightest person out there If you can't get traction in 1st, with the slicks you need to modify your pressure, launch rpm, or you're not heating them up enough in the box...should have come and spoken with Danny/Lawrence/myself and we'de have helped you...although I'm not the best with slicks, but we could have watched you through the box and off the line to see what was happening.

Nice time though, that header really did help out...I think that next time I head out I'll strip the back out, and maybe the passenger's seat too.

I was running a semi-new set of the BFG G-force drag radials, 205-50/15 on Kosei k-1's, first time at the strip with them, so I'm still playing with the pressure and launch rpm, best 60' was a 2.1X and I know that I was spinning the tires a fair amount through the 60'...need to get a test and tune in, I lost because I spun the tires off the launch, even though I cut a .516 light lost by .076 because I couldn't get traction, still had a 2.2X 60'. I used to have Nitto NT-555R tires, and I had well over 200 passes with them, so pressure and launch point were pretty consistent with them...just on the learning curve of a new tires

Not bad times!

The Black ITR from Utah that I was with ran a 13.6 on these mods:

ACT Streetlite Flywheel
Toda Header
AEM CAI
M/T Slicks

It was cool to see some ITR's out at the track. Hopefully we will see eachother at Expo IV and meet eachother then.

Hey, have you seen the PY ITR with the JUN stickers run? I think it was running 13's. Do you know what the guy has done to it? I think he lives in Sandy, right by my friend's house.

Yeah, I thought it was a pretty good run for our elevation being as high as it is. And also since I've seen LS1's there running high 14's/low 15's

So is his ITR pretty heavily modified?
