i have a almost brand new alpine cd player..last years model. i just put in a cd and started to listen to some music and turned it up a lil bit then all of a sudden it shut off and hasnt been working. then i put my stock tape deck in and it worked fine. So is my CD player blown?

 

bench test it, or someone said, take your 12v and ground and hook them up to the battery, if it doesnt turn on, yea, it's blown

 

is there a fuse in the back of your deck? that might have blown

 

Check the radio back-up fuse in the engine compartment. I had this happen to me once. My Alpine deck wouldn't work but if I plugged in the Honda factory one, it worked like a charm. Just a thought though............
