Car stalls unless AC is on...
Here's something I haven't seen/heard of before. My '96 Accord LX with a H22A swap done will stall unless you keep the AC on. With the AC off, it will start and begin to idle (fluctuating between 1000 and 1750 rpms), and then simply shut off. If you turn the AC on, the car idles fine and you can drive it anywhere. I've noticed that if you drive around for awhile, you can turn the AC off and the car will run fine for awhile, but if you drive long enough, it will stall. Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, how did you fix it? My friend is getting his '93 Prelude service manual later, but just wanted to see if anyone else had any ideas...
damn bro you got it bad I dont know anything about that perhaps alternator, electrical shortage, battery needs to be charged about the actual idle problem could be the iacv(idle air control valve) or tps senor. hope this helps.
when your idle goes high and up and down.......cause by leaking vacuum sumwhere,,,,,cause intake manifold to suk too much air in.......
best way is to try to find a misplace vacuum line, or open vacuumm line......
another way is ,,,,unplug ur iac valve, and see if the car idel normal (lower?).......if yes (iac is okay) if no,,,,iac is the problem

how many miles does your car have on it? it could be you idle air control . sometimes when your throttle body idle air control valve get dirt or whatever in it it strugle to keep a smooth idle. the reason your rpm's are jumping around is that your ecu sences the exesse vacum and will try to get more air in the engin, if it cant the engin will die. the reason it stablizes when you turn your ac on is because the ecu reconizes that you turned on your ac and adds more air the make up for the extra load put on your engin. im not sure but iv seen it befor and have cleaned the throttle body and then the car ran fine so give it a shot. good luck
