Hondata Airbox mod
who has done it... do you have pics of what it will look lie when its done i wanna do it and i wanna do ti right so i wanna see what it looks like when its done becasue i have never touched this car i have a 2002 CTR and m english is not that very gr8 so i wanna see i printed it out and wanna do it within the next week thanks
I dont have pics of mine, but be sure to buy, borrow, or steal a "dremel" or other rotary tool to make clean grinding and sanding work...its worth it. I have a lowly Si, and I cant tell if it helped really.
One more thing, if you take the box out of the car its easier to do a neat job, but its a pain to take it out/in.
If you dont want to take it out, remove the battery (easy) and you'll have a place to put your foot in while you really "get into" your work (plus no worries about safety) and
MOST IMPORTANTLY
If you are leaving the box in place to do the mod... COVER UP THE TUBE THAT GOES DOWN TO THE THROTTLE BODY with a clean plastic bag and cover the little gray rubber crankcase breather hose too! That way you wont get plastic bits or dirt or whatever down in the engine!
when you're done if your vaccuum doesnt get it clean enough in the corners, use some masking tape to "dab" up litte bits. (it works on persistent junk in the carpet too)

do NOT attempt to do this IN the car.
it is SIMPLE to remove the entire intake.
this way you can clean it out well, get all the shavings out.
I used a hose and sprayed the hell out of it, the put it back in once dried.
it literally takes 3 mins to remove the entire intake box.

Mine was stubborn as hell, and it took more time to remove/replace than to do the mod itself. I've removed mine 5 times now, but never anywhere near 3 minutes. You got mad skilz.
But i agree, its best to remove the intake to do it.
