Is it possible to run a high ten pass with street tires or drag radials? Is it possible with nitto 555rs if they are warmed up and sticky? I would like feedback from experienced draggers.
Thanks.
Thanks.
9psihybrid went 11's on radials and he is pushing about 600whp. I think it may be possible but you would be fighting traction through 5th. Hell people running 17 second runs with a FWD have traction problems, think about putting 600hp through the same two wheels with street tires.

like he says....
I seriously doubt it.. Best I have been able to muster is 12.06 and I was putting out well over 400hp... traction is an absolute bitch and not to mention I had the best dr available BFG's.. the only thing I can do differently it try out a bigger dr 225/50/15.. that translates into a 24x9x15 slick... the 205/50/15 is like 23.2x7x15. And yes they were nice and sticky

to agree with 60-1, i say,
if you have to ask, you wont be able to do it

get a good roof rack and strap down one of Wily E Coyote's Rocket packs, i say deep 10s.
if anything it would be on 255/50 16 BFG drag radials but and some seriously trick stuff to get the car out of the hole. its possible, but if you have to ask, i dont think you know how to do it.

I say its impossible on a set of nitto's especially a 15inch set. I wouldnt rule it out 100% on a big set 255/50/16's like i run. in a very light car, with a gear based, boost controller, and proper suspension, i think you could definitely get to a 11.2 for sure and then 10.99 with some serious dialing in and practice. remember 9psi ran 11.88 with 225/50's in a car that is 2400-2500lbs. There is no way 225's get even close to the same traction as 255/50/16's. He may have even done it on nitto's but i am not sure on that.
yeah, and i used the 245/50/16 before the Bf's and they hooked up until about 450whp. With the bf's i have got the car to hook rolling at 80mph at 600+whp. the nittos are good if you need a drag radial that lasts not if you are lookign for the best possible traction.
I'm going to test out the et streets in a 26x10.5x16 for the streets soon. 10's on those is 100% possible. they are a slick with some grooves. most of us are trying to conquer the radial record. the ets street is a bias ply not radial.
I'm sure someone will do it someday. How about a 1900lb hatch, 550+whp, 255/50/16's or so, and a good backwind. But like someone said above, " but if you have to ask, i dont think you know how to do it."

I have thought about doing this for a very long time and running in the street tire class, but they got those damn fast *** Supras and RX7s I don't think I can compete.

et street is not a true street tire though. i wouldnt waste my time with it at the track. you might as well run a slick

Yeah but it's DOT legal so you can run the class and that's all that counts! You have a fully stripped out Race car but are classifying it as Street Car so why not run them?
