I'm just curious to hear what you guys did to lighten the hell outta your hatches? It's gonna be my weekend driver so i would like to be able to put the major parts back in but i would still like it to be as light as possible for when i take it to the track..... TIA
just take out everything you can live without... some people are fine with driving around with nothing but a seat.. others feel that carpet is a must... so whatever you dont feel like you need just take it out... you can always put it back in later if you decide you want it again...
1) Remove the A/C System
2) Remove all the stuff under the dash
3) Remove Radio
4) Remove Passenger Seat
5) Remove Back Seats
6) Remove Spare
7) Remove Back Panels
8) Remove door panels
9) Remove roof liner
10) Remove tar
11) Remove any misc crap you don't need
More Extensive Weight Reduction
1) Lexan Windows (they make all 6 windows from a hatch)
2) Remove Front Bumper Supports
3) Remove Rear Bumper Supports
4) Carbon Fiber or Fiber Glass hood
5) Carbon Fiber or Fiber Glass doors
6) Carbon Fiber or Fiber Glass hatch
7) Carbon Fiber or Fiber Glass front end
8) Cut out part of flooring, inside of door panels, behind rear panels, etc.
9) Lighter Exhaust system
10) Lighter Wheels
I'd say fuel cell, but from experiences some people have had, they don't reduce any weight. soo stock tank, unless you need a fuel cell for your racing class.
