I own to get it to dim even thought the wire is hooked up. I was messing arround wian Apline CDA-7894 I was never able th it and noticed a manual dim setting in the functions. Does anyone know how to operare this? I can't seam to find any information on this in the owners guide.

Dude, not to pick on you, but please spell check your post. I can't really understand it after reading it a few times. Is the dimming intermitant? Does it not even happen at all? How old is this deck - I checked alpine's website to find directions and came up empty handed. What kind of car is this in? Have you tried installing in another car just make sure the head unit is functioning correctly?

 

It doesn't work. Only the brand new alpines did they fix this. Problem is, there is no dimmer in the harness, atleast not in any I used. My 7875 was this was, as is my current 7893. Sucks, but I deal with it. The new models have this fixed. Just like my 7893 in FM mode, if you try to hit and hold the button to tune a station, you might as well play slot machines as it flips super super fast
