My friend is gonna buy one for cheap and he wants to know what kinda mods can be done to it to make it faster. Or if there are any engine swaps he can do.

drop it outta of the back of a C-130, cause that's the fastest it's ever gonna get

there is little to nothin u can do to make a 2nd gen quick (i'm assuming u mean 1/4 mile time)...he'll spend most of his money keeping it running...

 

those can be a good platform to start from. just rebuild the motor, possibly put in some forged pistons and rods to strengthen the bottom end and get a custom turbo for it. those cars can be pretty fast for their age. they are pretty light, compared to the other preludes, i believe. if you don't want to go turbo, you won't get as much out of that motor, but you could do the usual na build-up and get some pretty good power. depends on what your friend is trying to accomplish with that car.

there is one thing that he should consider before buying that car and trying to fix it up. those models have a tendency to rust in the rear undercarriage. usually not worth fixing up. he may want to seriously look at the rust before deciding to do anything with that car.
