Since vtec burns alot of oil and gas... and a drive to vegas is at least 3 hours...it may put unnecessary stress?

I live in Washington and I went to RENO Last year (.. Long Drive,( Oh the Highway I was doing 80 MPH in Vtec Range.. 12 hour drive and I never had any problems.. Make sure you have fresh oil and basic stuff done.. When I got back I did an oil change.. This is a year ago NO Problems.
I'm in VTEC in 5th at around 105-110mph with my h23a1 tranny. I usually head down to see my gf every other weekend (80-90 mph avg.) and do about 100mph+ but usually just short sprints(maybe 20-30 secs if not less). I wouldn't suggest doing 100+ constantly. Plus when anything happens when you're going that fast, it's gonna be hard to control your car.

my 5th generation lude doesnt hit v-tec in 5th until 115 mph... its probably not a good idea to stay in v-tec for a long period of time and if you do check your oil before and after...
LOL.... on the Gumball I VTEC'd it in 5th for about four or five hours straight at 120+.
The only thing that went bad was the hydraulic tensioner. And we think it started going bad on the way out there.
Look, Honda gave us VTEC to use it. So for Christ's sake, USE it. I had oil temp, water temp, oil pressure, EGT, A/F meter, etc that I kept a constant eye on and it stayed right where it was supposed to.
