I'm in the process of rebuilding my transmission, but i'm waiting on some parts to get here. In the mean time I need to clean everything because it's all covered in brass dust from the synchro that was demolsihed. any suggestoins on what i should use to clean the parts?

also, has anyone removed or pressed back on their 1st and 2nd gears on the countershaft by themselves? do you need to have a machine shop do it?
