Default For those with mugen exhaust

The exhaust comes with 2 circular rings. One is squishy and the other is metal. I used the squishy one as a gasket between the muffler and b-pipe. I couldn't quite figure if i needed the metal one between the cat and b-pipe. I I was wondering if you guys used the metal circular ring, or just didn't use it at all.

I did use the metal one between the cat and b-pipe. I then drove around with it wondered about it, so I called King and they said I didn't need it. Besides it's not a clean fit anyways take it off you'll be fine, mines been off for a year now.

There is this clanking sound comming from underneath my car. Its the noise that metal makes when its contracting. I was wondering if it could have been that I didn't use the metal ring. I'm also suspecting the heatshield because I had to jam some of it up so the piping wouldn't rub against it. Anyone experience this?

Yeah, mine clanks also - usually when I'm taking off. From what I can tell, it's hitting the heat shield. I'm probably going to just cut that small section out.

Hndaman...i think the clanking noise you're referring to is just the exhaust rubbing against the heatshield. The noise i'm referring to is like rhythmic and fairly loud. It happens when i'm driving and for a little while after i turn off my car.

Had mine for a year and no "clanking"; first I've ever heard of it...

How was the fitment of your mugen? Was the piping rubbing against the heatshield?

Final Flash, did you use that metal ring between the cat and b-pipe?
