Default My first HPDE today!!!! Wooooo Hoooooo!!!!!!! Super Fun!!!

I had an awesome time, Unlimited Laps put on a great HPDE! Interesting lunch... But hey that's not what came for.

I put on approx. 200 miles on my car from just driving the track. I don't know how to describe it at all. Sides it was fun, I feel I learned a lot, and I really enjoyed myself. This was at Thunderhill BTW.

My instructors name was Jim, and I owe him a lot for all the help he gave me. He is driving in the Honda Challenge, he drives an EG Civic, stripped to the bone, with a B18C1, that was fun when I got to go out on the track with him in that.

I know I am rambling, sorry about that, I am just really tired, and excited at the same time. Thank you Ray for showing me the UnlimitedLaps website, without you I wouldn't have known about it and wouldn't have gone. But damn you at the same time, cause now I am HOOKED. It is like CRACK! I wouldn't have stopped but I needed gas to get to the gas station to get home at the end of the Open Run.

I can definetely see myself being a trackwhore.

There will be pictures of the event tommorow, there is also video footage, but I don't expect that shall be up online too soon.

what car were you driving? I was there with a few friends, I co-drove my friends 91 crx with a b16. It was pretty cool to run the track in the reverse direction...keeps things fresh. I'll post up some pics soon. First things first. Sleep

Congrats! I had a blast on my first and second HPDE. I also drive a Civic Ex, and while it is no where near the fastest it is still fun.

What are your mods?

Thanks for the pics Ray, I am getting the outside shot video copied over today, IF I can get a hold of my friend. He seems to be kind of busy. LoL, I'll let you know, so we can make a copy of it for you.

Tell you what though, I realized the limits of my suspension, time to get some Koni's, and custom springs. New brakes, and brake pads too.

Sure felt like I did. I don't know how to explain it, but it felt like the car didn't want to go any faster. I put in over 200 miles on the track in one day. My instructor was even impressed with how well I did for my first time. He tried to convince the guy who was running the event to move me up from Green Group, to Yellow Group, because I couldn't run as fast as he thought I could because every corner, I would run into someone slower than myself, he wanted to coach me somewhere where I wouldn't have to pull in every couple of laps to let cars go by until there was a dead spot where I could just go. I didn't mind too much, but my instructor was more frustrated than I was. He was all, this is just ridculous. Also the money thing, having no bills, except college books, I have some extra money lying around, so I am gonna go ahead and at least upgrade the brakes. Gotta love understanding parents.

Exactly... subjective. Give it another event or two. Work on being smooth and carrying momentum and expanding your field of vision/looking ahead.

That is what my instructor said, be smooth, you have the line down, your hitting the apex right and, now be smooth with the inputs. I see your point though. Definetely going to at least do brakes though, stock isn't working towards the end of the event.

You did well, you did not have to talk to me for any off course or unsafe actions.
In fact the whole day was incident free. There were only about 2 spins all day long.
