installed JG vicor-x manifold on boosted GSR BIG PROBLEMS, please help!
we just finished the install of a JG victor X intake manifold on my turbo GSR and we are having some issues, here is my setup
Greddy 18g turbo
greddy type-s bov
greddy fmic
greddy blue box
... basically a greddy kit, anyway, we installed the manifold and now i have having some problems...
1. my idle is high (1300-1400 rpms)
2. when i hold the throttle steady at 1500 or a lil more i get a up and down thump from my motor, like a lumpy cam would sound, the motor shifts forward and backward, rpms wiggle up and down in a 200 rpm range
3. you can notice the same thumping when you slowly rev, but when when your giving it quick throttle it doesnt hapen, it you rev the car up to say 6k, let it drop to about 4 and hit the gas it kinda lunges
4. my air/fuel gauge is stuck on the last green (rich) but were assuming the gauge is no longer working for some reason because it doesnt move at all, such as a primary o2 not being plugged in, the car also (by the looks of the exhaust) is running extremely rich
we check all lines and notice no leaks, but i dont see how a vaccuum leak could cause this but i could be wrong, any ideas? any help is extremely appreciated

Your whole description smacks of a vacuum leak. Id start spraying around with carb clean while the car is running to find it.
the car idle's fine though, just high, the pulsating only starts when it's givin' a little throttle
VACUUM LEAK! that's the cause of the high idle. make sure all the barbed fittings on the manifold of good and tight. i used teflon tape on all of mine. also, that stumble when you rev is a symptom of a bad iacv. check if you have it plugged in and bolted tight.
the motor isnt really louder, but when i was driving on the how way and ran it out to like 7k it sounds like it's working harder, or running higher than it normally does in relation to the rpm im at.

this may sound silly, but you did put the big allen plug in the end of the manifold, right?
just a thought...
how does your boost pressure compare to what it used to be?

just curious but where do you get that big plug at the end of the manifold and what is it there for.
it usually comes with the mani....
I dont know where you could get a replacement....
Its from the casting process.... when they cast the part, the mold needs to have that hole for some reason... then you just plug it up...

same thing is happening to me. My car is a 94 gsr with rev hard turbo kit, aem fuel rail and fpr, rc 440 and hondata. I installed the JG manifold this weekend. My car is taking forever to hit full boost. Its also idleling at 1200-1400. thanks
solution, throw that garbage manifold away and use a skunk manifold, and run a reprogram p28 ECU.. that should solve 99% of u

I wouldn't go that far. alot of people use that manifold with no problems at all, including myself.

Hey man u probly got the MAP sensor and TPS sensor try that ive done 4 of them and everytime i see probs thats the first thing the car idles high and drives like crap try it let us know
You can also let bleed the radiator. Take the cap off and let the car idle for awhile until all the air bubbles come out. That can cause the up and down idle after hitting the throttle. Good luck HTH.
