imitation mufflers good or bad?

imitation mufflers good or bad?
just wondering about those imitiation muffler like the fireballs and the fake n1 style mufflers good or bad? does the muffler give you any power or not? im thinking about getting custom mandrel bent piping for my eg maybe 2 1/4. would the muffler matter or not?
