I am about to aquire a 2000 Civic Si
only mod is a DC sports header, the guy wanted more power without the noise
well needless to say he is an idiot
but he never drove the car hard
I am a ITR owner as well as WRX, I need to know what exhaust is the best
but this is for my kid so I want it to be the most bang for buck bothe exhaust and intake,
Thanks to everyone who helps me out, please include links if possible

I checked out the AEM website but they dont have any prices listed. How much does the cai cost? any idea how easy it is to install and does it void warranty?

AEM CAI definitely. But the mugen muf is the best! Sounds almost like stock, and the muffler(the whole system) gives the same power as a full exhaust system. Plus it's not ricey.

AEM is a standard for CAI, I have an APexi N1 and I love it. It is not as expensive as Tanabe or Mugen and you get a nice clean sound.
AEM CAI is most people's top choice. However, no one's shown direct proof yet that on an identical setup (same car, same mods, same day w/in a small amount of time) that the AEM makes more power than other CAI's like Injen, Iceman, etc. As for exhaust, if you're staying with bolt-ons, then it doesn't matter which one. Two people can have identical cars and get the same exhaust and one will gain more than the other. A 1-2WHP difference isn't much. Pick one that you like in terms of appearance and sound (some may be too loud or droning for your tastes). Whether you want something fairly quiet till WOT or something that's loud and roars, there's a lot to choose from. An exhaust for a nearly stock Si is more a matter of tastes than power figures. If you decide to go FI or NA (big cams, high compression, etc.) later, than an exhaust will matter.
Best Looking/Sounding exhaust is the Tanabe G-Power. That is only my opinion though. It has a nice deep sound that is not too loud.
