Do ST swaybars bind?
Hi, I'm looking into Suspension Technique swaybars for my '97 Civic. I also plan on Konis. lowering the car about 1/2 inch, camber plates, and a semi-aggressive alignment.
I've heard of aftermarket swaybars binding near the end of their travel, necessitating heim joints.
Do ST swaybars bind? Do they need heim joints?
TIA

If you torque the bar with the suspension loaded, then you shouldn't run into bind at the end-links. This is necessary on Progress bars. Many people torque the bar while the car is on stands, such that there is no load on the bar. When the car is finally lowered the bar does not move from its tightened position (not optimal) and its dynamic range of motion is very limited. When the car is cornering and the suspension compresses, the bar runs out of room and binds.
As for binding simply from the end-link design, I haven't heard of problems like that, though I'm not completely familiar with the ST design.
Edit: forgot werds

We did a fairly aggredsive setup on our 96HB and used ST bars front and rear. They did not bind on hard cornering. The suspension used Koni "yellow" shocks and Skunk2 sleeves and springs. You should not have a problem based on the drop you plan. We used what came with the kit from ST, btw.
