Default Camera mount options?

HI guys. I was going to buy the ioport mount but i just checked and it is listed for $100. For some reason i thought it was like 30 or something.

Anyway, what are some cheaper alternatives? This is to tape lapping seesions and i need something that will make my instructor happy as well. Im thinking i could make one to mount to the roll bar pretty easy and buy the ioport safety strap for piece of mind?

Thanks.

Mike

do a search on camera mounts, its been talked about several times. you can buy something just like the ioport mount without the rollbar attachment and polybushing. also, just have someone weld in a plate on the rollbar, works fine from what i hear, ioport mount can be flimsy quite frankly. as far as the "strap", it really is just a simple strap.

.... or just buy the IOPort one and be done with it. I've been using mine for years with no problems. I'm sure there are other options out there, but the nice thing about the IOPort one is it's very flexible with different installation options.

bogen 3025 3D head is the same head that the ioport mount uses. You can pick it up for around $30 shipped. With a bolt, metal plate, 2 u-bolts and a little bit of home depot engineering you can have an ioport equivalent for 1/3 the price
