Default my setup

i was wondering if my setup would make my car slower by having an exhaust? it may seem like a dumb question, but i think the 2.5'' cat back may have an affect on my shitty times? too big and restrictive cat will cause not enough backpressure, and its also a little modified to not burn my rear bumper(cut and welded(not smooth flow))i know it may add a couple peak hp, but i also lose low end torque. i have injen cai, skunk2 catback, bf goodrich g-force tires, and hondata ecu upgrade. and the best i've ran was 14.53. i know i can hit a 14.4 but that still nothing compared to people with just intake and hondata!!! but the question is, i was wondering if my time would be faster w/ stock exhaust rather than the skunk2. best i ran with sri and skunk2 exhaust was 15.2 stock tires. i've never tried it stock or w/ stock exhaust? any ideas anyone?

i'll probably just switch back to stock exhaust and run it to see if it does matter. but just want the heads up b4 i do it. should i? yes or no

the stock exhaust might give better numbers versus your custom Skunk2 catback.....

the 2.5' custom exhaust will give you better numbers, no question, if you install a high flow, hondata and properly tune the car....

You cant just slap on a mod and expect to make hp/trq throughout the curve without tuning....

the key is tune, tune, tune!

1/4 mile with: SRI and exhaust=15.2 best
1/4 mile with: SRI, exhaust, hondata-4 = 14.7
1/4 mile with: CAI, exhaust, hondata-4, bf goodrich g force tires= 14.53

i'm just wondering why my times are so bad compared to other people. or maybe its just where i'm from, or the track? because when i ran the 14.7, that was the race i raced another rsx and all he had was intake and exhaust and his best time that night was 15.4....?

the WHOLE slip would certainly help determine where your opportunities for imrpovement are. We'd need to see r/t 60ft, etc in order to really help. what psi were the tires at when you ran? what rpm were you launching at, etc. all of this plays a BIG role in your 1/4 times..........
