car vs bike who is the king of the road
ok my friend has a supra trubo.that has been highly modfied and makes 400rwhp. Do you think he can beat a 600 sport bike from a roll? say 60 to 140mph i say hell no but i could be wrong. He said he pulled high 11 in the 1/4 mile .NOW i know car's are more aerodynamic at high speed. but can a 600 pull it off? And can some one give tech info on car vs bike pro's and con's you know trun''s stoping so on WHO IS KING POUND FOR POUND
bike pros: power to weight ratio, turn transition, braking, sub 120 acceleration
car pros: stability, maximum grip , drag launch, high end acceleration
Ultimately given minimal disrupting factors and equally skilled operators the supra should overtake the 600cc bike by the time the first reaches 140mph. Keep in mind most 600s top out around 140-150. A car is not more aerodynamic at high speed, but it is at this time that the ultimate horsepower advantage comes into play. a 5mph-120 roll on would be benficial to the 600cc bike.

Amen. That's a bit fast for a Supra with 400rwhp.

i had a bpu supra. on race gas on a roll from 60-140 or so it might be able to take an older f2 ... but i dont think it will beat a 2001+ 600cc....it wont be THAT far behind though. bpu supra on race gas probably traps around ~115 to 120.
what is a bpu and what if it was a r1 and not a 6oo class . I have a tl 1000r i know i will take his *** but i will not stop at 140 mph . I hit that on 495 all the time no big deal. and i am a novice biker
my best time at track is 10: 98 at 123 I AVG LOW 12 TO HIGH 11 SEC 115 TO 119 MPH . NOT BAD FOR A V TWIN AND A NOVICE

I'd hate to burst your bubble, but a 400hp BPU Supra would give you trouble from a roll. ET means nothing on the highway, and trap speed only tells half the story.
Funny how you average high 11s low 12s @ 115-119mph but your best time is over a second faster. I'd think your average would be atleast something closer to that

In a roll-on from 60-140 you might be able to pull him a little on take off but by 140 he will own you. On a 600 CC bike even a new one your accelloration slows the closer you get to your to speed. Because of areodynamics and the lack of HP and torque you will loose on the top end. As far as an R1 it would be a good race you wouldnt kill him and with a TLR 1000 that would be even a closer race and I would have to go with the car. This is with the fact you are running to 140 not 140 on your bike speedo witch is off by 5 to 10% by then. Now my bike on the other hand would kill him. I would like to run a 500+hp car on a roll on from 60-180Mph. Only had one car try to play this year so far and it would have been a sloughter, it was a 2001-2 trans am. But I was doing a shake down run on the new tires and only had one side of my bike body work on and didnt want to have that ripped off the bike by doing a high speed pass.
by the way my average 1/8th mile trap speeds are 110-118 depending how good of a launch I get.

A 600ss can do better than high 11's all day without even trying. But drag racing a bike is pretty pointless to me. I drag my car, and track my bike.
hey man thank you for replying . but a r1 will kill his car in a roll on And i dont mean a top gear PULL. And like i said 140 mph is no big deal . Ive hit that and some more. **** some time's a group of us start off in whasingtoin DC take the park way to 495 to 95 going TO BALLTIMORE in 10 to 20 min. any one that know's this area can tell you that's good time . 140 lol lol lol no trouble for me MR. By plenty what do you mean 20 or so or 50 maybe. I know there are way over 100 hayabusa running around with over 300HP like mine. My tunner just got dome putting together one that makes 530+ HP and 272 Ftlp's of Torque. Yea and 118Mph is spped in th 1/8th mile traps 1/4 mile trap are 16?+
I didnt say your bike couldnt hit 140 I am saying much abouve 130 and you will not accelorate as fast as at lowwer speed due to aerodynamics (drag coeficents on bikes suck) and lowwer HP. a turbo tends to accelorate pretty good on the high end. Have you acculy seen an R1 beat this car from 60-140 or are you just assuming it will higher Hp cars will suprise you at what they can do. I think too many people with bike have the attitude that cars cant touch them but at higher speeds some find out the hard way.

RioNinja, I saw the 1/8th the first time
I guess I'd expect more from 300hp that's all. I've yet to track my current bike, but my friend's 160rwhp bike traps 116-117mph in the 1/8th on the motor (144 in the 1/4). It must be THAT hard to put any kind of power down in the 1/8th.

The bikes can, but not every rider. Road course racing is pointless to some people as well. Different strokes. A Drag strip is a race track like a road course is, just different types of racing.

I disagree with the first part, and agree with the second. Bikes may look all swoopy, but they're about as aerodynamic as a brick. With a car you don't have a large person attached to the outside of it. At really high speeds (150+) aerodynamics play a huge role. Take the Fbody and Corvette. Same power output, same gearing, but the Vette will top out 10-15mph more.

I dunno who mentioned an R1, I thought you were talking about your TLR. You'd be shocked to see how close a race with a 400hp Supra and a TLR would be. Seen it myself

Yeah, all the 800+rwhp ones. Cuz that's what kinda power it takes to "roll" a stock Busa on the highway.
I got a friend who's Supra made close to, if not more than 800rw last time at the dyno (SP74) and I'm pretty sure he'd take my stock 12R from a roll.

400hp is a lot on a Supra these days? My friend is pushing out about 700hp.
Sorry for going off topic. But your friends supra might have a chance against a 600cc bike on the freeway.

When you consider that there were so very few MKIV Supras built at all, there aren't too many rolling around period. Let alone "more than a few" 800hp ones. We all know they exist, I know of two in my town alone. However, I don't think there are enough 800+hp Supras around that too many Busa owners need to worry.
Immortal, I miss the one I had too

400hp isn't alot in the Supra world. BPU Supras have most 600s covered on the highway.

Yes it is I run at a track thats not known for good times even in a car, but hey there are that many people there on test n tune night. and on the street tire spins in first around 40-60 in second tire spins 70-90 so yes with out srtting it up for the track only you dont get that great of 1/8 mile speeds. Plus it is set up for the highway were i do most of my riding. With 1 tooth added tothe front sprocket and 2 off the back moving the top end from 199 (stock gearing ) to around 215Mph. but considering there are only 4 or 5 other bikes besides the hayabusa that will do much over 165-170 top end and I am get 165+ in the quarter it moves pretty good
