Default swapped out my test pipe for a high flow cat. review

i cracked my test pipe about a week ago, so i pit on a carsound high flow cat. the car does not feel any slower, in act it definately feels like ive gained some low end torque(according to the but dyno). the car sounds like a whole new car. so much quieter, which is noce since i drive 68 miles a day, 5 days a week. i thought when i went from my stock cat to a test pipe was the ****. high flow cat seems to feel better to me plus im not polluting as much anymore.

high flow cat=good investment

test pipes=good, but overrated

Is there a noticable sound difference with a test pipe? A friend of mine ordered one and wasn't sure how loud it was goin to make the car...

i paid 120 total for the cat and install from a local muffler shop. my test pipe was resonated so it wasnt too loud, but the noise level difference between the 2 is very noticeable. its alot quieter now that i have the cat

120 sounds like a good deal for a hi-flow cat, but i got my testpipe for 35. There is no way i am paying over 100 for a hi-flow cat. They are usually more than that too.

wise purchase. imo, test pipes are for ricers who want their car to sound like a bumblebee

ive seen high flows on ebay for 39...

Im wondering how good they are and how long they would last. anyone have any experience with them?

I think a high flow cat is a good upgrade. Its good of you to put a cat back on.
the environment thanks you

if you think 100 bucks is a lot then you should see the fine for getting caught without a cat..!!

they are fix it tickets tho...... so it shouldn't be that hard to get away with the ticket

But I do agree. GO WITH A CAT! save the envronment. but it is up to you. I have a high flow cat on my integra and it works REALLY well.....

Just Wondering: did u dyno ur car before and after the new cat? if so how much hp was gained/lost?

I know you advocated running a cat, but I'd like to clarify that the penalites for removing the catalytic converter can be substantially greater than a "fix-it" ticket. It's covered federally under the EPA, and the agency can impose large fines.

I had a caldo honda high flow jdm cat on my integra but it was burned out and dead so i had to get a universal cat to get me through emissions, it made my mugen exhaust sound like ****, raspy and nasty, its coming off first thing monday morning and a JDM phase test pipe going on instead
