Austrailian Type R?
The Austrailain ITR has a power rating of 147km = to 198hp... WTF, I thought the ITR has a HP rating of 220 - K20A? Are they getting jipped? So its basically just an RSX Type S? Is the JDM ITR 200hp as well??

there still lucky tho cuz they have the recaro seats, pedals badging and the wing in theres still better than the us type s options wise but still nothin to the JDM type r i wouldnt mind having there type r over my us type s at all
LOL!....are AUSDM DC5R is :
1. LIGHTER
2. has recaros
3. has JDM LSD
4. SAME gearing as JDM
5. same aesthetics
and BTW 147kW if we are talking about conversion is different to you guys...its 200HP not 198HP...although we get the K20A2 motor like you guys....
oh and we dont get a sunroof either...nor cruise control........same chassis stiffening as DC5R as well...which is 116% over DC2R....
I dont know how many times this has been posted....

exactly...the cars have been somewhat changed for different market demands....as HONDA's are not as popular as say america here in australia, sales are not exactly skyrocketing for Integra's here....and may be the case why we did not get the FULL blown type-r Model....

yeh we got jipped... honda oz kept a tight lip about the detuned specs until the day the car was launched, ppl were queing and also pre-ordering their 'supposedly' 220hp DC5Rs.
Now Honda Aus barely sells enough of them, everyone still flocking to subaru and nissan dealerships for their WRXs and S15 Silvias.
I got my Australian delivered DC5R exactly a year ago, now showing 31,000kms on the odometer. But i'm over the 'detuned' specs, the JDM would've given Honda a better sales and better name, but that's life.

I'll just do that mike... F#ck the Brembos, the APs are british made the parent company owns both brembo and AP racing.
The Aussie V8 Supercars use brembos, but stick'em at the rears and use APs at the front
Engine wise, i'm not gonna settle for anything under 12:1 and spins under 9,000 rpm.
$pecial K: The rims are same shape as the Type-S, but they are an ENKEI item and are lighter than the normal ones found on the Base integra. I don't know if the Type-S have the same. (They cost $850AUD each from Honda, i know, coz i've bent one

Honda is F***ing dumb for not importing Type R's to one of the if not the biggest markets for them the US....
Even Nissan is finally Importing Skylines to buy here!!!
Come On Honda Before you got nothing!

What if instead of calling it the RSX-S, they actually marketed it as the Acura Integra Type-R?
It would be considered a de-tuned version, no LSD, different gear ratios, different exhaust setup, different sussy setup, K20A2 instead of K20A, no brembos... But you would still have the aesthetics of the JDM, including the rims, skirts, wing, front-end etc.
Would you complain then? I don't think the market would notice the difference. Ah, but us hardcore Honda fans would definitely notice! But what about the old Acura Integra Type R?
I believe your DC2R had no standard recaros, had different exhausts, different ECU tune, different suspension tune, different alloy wheels, totally different front end... All you had was a similar looking ITR to the JDM and not many people complained (you did get a LSD).
What my point is, is it really the car you're after or just a look and a badge? because the US market doesn't seem to notice either one.
Saying that, the Australian market doesn't actually get the JDM car, but it does get the aesthetics, the chasiss, tranny and LSD. Not too many people are complaining.

Honda wouldn't do that in the first place, it doesnt just take pretty lil thingies here an there to call it a type R, the name type R has respect behind it, as honda's pride and joy man. Sure, most people wouldnt notice, but honda would shame themselves. it needs to perform, and thats the bottom line.

The rims on my Canadian TypeS have Enkei cast on the back of them.

Honda do take their cars seriously, but in the name of marketing and profit... Something might give.
Take the term Type R for the prime example. What does it mean? Does it mean RACE? Bzzzt.
It originally stood for REDUCED weight when the first Type R, the 3.0L NSX was released. True to the philosophy, the Type R was a all-or-nothing race car, the engineers who designed it gave it the R, but the marketing like to cash in on it and coined the term RACE for the western market.
With all that said and done, the Australian Type R doesn't perform as well as the JDM. It misses out on a few too many things, most notably the BRAKES, SUSPENSION TUNE and most importantly the ENGINE. But the Australian market wanted a Type R? So the Japs tailor made one for Honda Australia (HONDA AUSTRALIA is not owned by HONDA JAPAN) Does it sell as well as they expected? Nup. About as rare as seeing saddam strolling down bondi beach.
Does Honda JAPAN take their Rs seriously? YUP. But I'm not so sure about Honda Australia...
Pray that Honda North America thinks like Japan.
