Default can somebody explain the process of getting your license

iv heard its just like a car where you get your learners, but i here differnt stories about how long youv got to ride with somebody or if your even have to , then you get your license , then theres the msf course ,can you just take that when you have your learners or when you get your license ,

And does you motorcylce license work like a car where if your over a certain age you dont need a learners , i heard that one to , i was thinking about buying a bike , and riding it around my apartment complex for like two months and get the hang of it , then goin to get my learners then taking the msf course, then when able to i whould get my license, sorry for all the dumb *** questions,

another thing im looking at a 2000 gsxr 600 , thats why i want to get the bike then drive it around for a little while at my complex then got get my learners and the rest of the stuff, but i always hear that you shouldnt get a bike like that as your first do you guys think it will hard or bad to learn on a bike like that , a friend of mine has been riding for years and is gonna teach me to ride and what not so i got a few things goin for me that i think will make it safer and easier

again sorry for the dumb questions and this huge *** post

In CA, you can get your permit at any time. For me, I had to retake the car driver's license permit test again (more than 1 year, said the DMV rep.). The permit allows you to ride on roads, but not on highways/freeways and not after dark. You should check into your state's DMV website and find out more info there. Get your permit first. It's just a written test that's real easy to pass.

The MSF class is an option that you don't have to take if you don't want to. HOWEVER, I really really really really recommend you take the course. It teaches you all the basics of riding. Much better than learning on your own, or worse, picking up any bad habits your rider-friends may have. If you choose not to take the MSF class, then you can take a license test at your DMV site. But I heard this test is harder than the MSF test.

Get something older and cheaper than the Gixxer6. When you drop it, you're gonna pay up the (_|_) for fairings/repairs. Plus, insurance will be cheaper.

it depends a lot on where you're from. i don't know about your area, but here you can ride anywhere in the state with a permit. a lot of people don't even bother to get their licenses and just ride around with their permits for this reason.

Take the MSF course first. You will learn so much from the MSF course. That is what I did. In CA if you take the MSF course the DMV will waive the skills/riding test. Once I passed the MSF course I went to the DMV and got my license. They made me take the motorcyle written test and a shortened written version of the test for the cage. I hope all that makes sense
