Default Timing belt job/water pump bolts

Me and a buddy of mine put a timing belt and water pump on his EG hatchcrap w/ a B18B in it tonite - is there an easier way to access the water pump bolts other than the 3/8" drive w/ a shallow socket? Those things were a royal pain in the ***, both removing and putting them back in.

Also, i picked up an electric impact from Harbor Freight ( http://www.harborfreight.com/c...46701 ) and it zinged the crank bolt off without even working hard. Definately a good investment.

I just grin and bear it. To break them loose I sometimes slip a 18mm or 19mm deep socket with 6"+ extension over the butt of the ratchet to use as a breaker bar.

The Chicago electric impact wrench I have doesn't do diddly on the crank pulley bolt. It's nice for suspension work.
