i usually post in the integra forum but i am trying to help a friend figure out what the problem is with her 2003 civic Si. Whenever she revs the car it will be normal until 4400 or so rpms, its hard to tell exactly where it stops, but it wont rev any higher. the rpms just bounce back and forth like a rev limiter would at redline, but around the 4k mark. Now i know vtec kicks in at 4400 on my gsr, but i dont know about this Si. I amlost positive it something electrical, the engine light is on. the the maintenence required one, but the check engine one. Any ideas would be great to see what we are working with here, thanks, jon

cliff notes: car wont rev past 4400 bounces like rev limiter.

 

sounds like the motor is in a kind of "safe mode" Are there any other problems. If it is throwing a code, then you may want to get that read and proceed from there.

 

iono...sorry i cant help but wouldnt it be easier to take it to the dealership..since it is a new car......?

 

since its a 2003, it should be covered under warranty.
