Default QT: Jdm Front Bumper Fitment

okay, i won a jdm front shinsei bumper on ebay like a couple of weeks ago n for some reason the passenger side headlights wont align with the bumper n so does the grill, as far as the left side goes it fits perfectly, from what the body shop told me the ends of the front bumper is what keeps the bumper together to the fenders/body. Is that true? or is there suppose to be something else that the front bumper attaches to in the middle. The front bumper has these two holes on there but the grill hides it. I know a lot of individuals use the term bumper reinforcement, which is that bar that goes across the radiator, but is that the only thing that supports the front bumper? I did a search n no one really was specific about any problems they've encountered. Or maybe its just the bumper... any comments or opinions.. n yes no flaming hehe

thanks

Hey P -
well, the OEM JDM bumper's held up no the sides, the body shop was right. As for the grill, that is connected to the headlights on the inside. Its mostly held on there.
The Bumper reinforcement Bar is the " crash protection " of the car. It bolts onto the radiator support and goes across the front. I got a pic.

See the black Bar? thats the bumper reinforcement bar.
the radiator support is the whole yellow " frame" on the front of the car.

Check out the USDM Bumper reinforcement bar! No wonder the JDM didn't pass the DOT crash tests.

To make the OEM JDM bumper cover fit easily you need the JDM front bumper beam AND a part which bolts onto the bumper. This part, a bumper cover support, is height adjustable. If you don't have these two, the bumper cover will sag where it passes underneath the headlights. This bumper cover support and the points that attach onto the fenders are what keeps the front bumper cover on.

In the pictures above the black part is the bumper beam. You need yet another piece that bolts on to this bumper beam to make the OEM JDM front bumper cover work easily.

A few tips. Not only is the bumper cover support height adjustable, but you can also loosen the bolts that hold the front bumper beam and push it up and then tighten down to get the support sitting higher.
