the project might be on hold for alittle...i might just slap my motor, turbo, ems, igntion in the street car and go race sport fwd this season..

the race car still needs dry sump oil system(3 stage), rear suspension, rear wheels and tires, tunning, and buy a trans and build it up...i figure i can make it with about 10,000...**** if i could come up with that money id be running this season, im really slow at work right now...im hoping by late summer ill be able to get the stuff to finish it. im gonna do it right and not rig it all up just to make it out this season. look for me though could be soooner than expected..

i need some sponsors, know anyone?

thanks

Looks damn great man.

You're (duh) doing H22 drag project correct? Reason I ask is because I've been talking with Moroso and had their catalog on the dry sump stuff, but only see that crap for the B series. They said they haven't released a dry sump system for the H series as of yet, but it's been a little while.

Definitely take your time though, that cage is mean as hell!

i have a custom idler pulley(in water pump location, so i can run the stock timing belt Golden Eagle is setting me up with an electric watr pump setup

i think the deckplate is around 5/8s'... it was 3/4 but the deck was too tall so we "decked' the deck plate

I wanted to do this as well, but I think it's too damn expensive.

Dave: was it hard stripping the tar off with a bead blaster? What about cleanup of the sand afterwards?

i honestly couldnt tell ya, i took it to a place and had it done, they used "media blasting" , "bead blasting" and sand blasting....be careful cause it will leave small pits in the metal and ya prolly dont want that, it seems to make it pretty rough. the only complaint i had was, all of the sand, plastic, etc that was stuck in my rockers, i had teh front of the car like 8 ft in the air with my cherry picker and it was alll runnning out of the back of the rockers, i wouldnt be supprised if there was some still in there.

another thing i did was get my grinder out....well i got like 3 wire wheels for my grinder, than epoxy'd the wires on them, let it hardern up and i grinded alot of seem sealer off and some undercoating in my fenderwells, where the damn blasting place didnt do the job to my liking...that damn epoxed wire wheel works great, the epoxy makes the wires stay togethere longer, so they arent flying off into space every 5 seconds.

We sand blasted the bottom of our car a few years ago. It worked great, but it took about 6 months of racing to get all the sand out! Every time we would launch, sand would fall on the track from inside the car. Try to get out as much as you can, the officials don't like sand on the track too much!

A long time ago I seen couple places that Acid Dipped the whole body of a car in a huge vat.It was done for restoration jobs on muscle cars.I'm sorry but I forgot the names of the places that do that.. but that's not what your looking for anyway..you want to do it yourself, right?
