As he was the winner of the Super 4 class in yesterday's NIRA race at MIR raceway in MD. He beat all the hybrid hatch guys at their own game winning in his Teg R motored Integra!!!

Consistancy was his key to winning, as he beat the number 1 qualifier in the Semis, and then took out the runner up in strong fashion in the finals.

Sgt also qualified to get in the field, but I don't know what happened to his car as he didn't make the elimination rounds.

It's pretty bad azz when two cars that are really supposed to be in a "slower" class (they are usually Comp 4) qualify well, and then one wins the class!

Mad props to them!

Don't forget, that he broke his LSD the first day and came back the second day to take the win in the Super 4 class.

 

with an open diff si tranny. I just want to say that Fred Ellis is the man. That guy offered me the tranny....took me to his house and worked with me on my car til 2am Saturday night. well...this was after i took him and his wife out for steak and shrimp and rockfish...lol. The least i could do for all that he did for me.

thanks for the kind words guys. I found it to be cool that i won super4, my buddy won comp4(we drove down there together) and fred who did all that for me won Pro Stock.

Lip good job! I did not get a chance to introduce myself. That was my best friend you beat. It was a strong race. He won there last year. I love the look of your car, it is amazing in person. BTW my car was the grey and black coupe that went 13.3@ 100. Unfortunatly it was not in qualifing.

was it hot or was it just my skin melting off of my body!!!!!!

I was so exhausted...i fell asleep in the Maryland House rest area on I-95 for an hour and got home at 2am

One thing.....all the hybrid guys that i raced were very cool. We were amazed at how good of a race we had. My last 2 wins were crazy close.... in the semi's i won by .02 seconds...and the finals i won by .005 seconds. That was some fun racing.

 

Yep that was me. I was too damn hot. I have no flesh on the back of my neck. Ben (J-spec) is really cool. He wasn't too happy you beat him, but hell he is running a stock JDM R motor with toda B's.

 

Oops I forgot to congratulate you on my last post about the Hitech exhaust. So if I go hybrid and build my car to race, does that mean I gotta race against you? DAMN!!!

Perhaps the funniest thing of the whole day is that BF Goodrich is giving away two Jun prepped Civic hatches, both using Jun crate motors basically.

They were doing exhibition runs in between classes, and running 12.9's to 13.2.

The last one they did, he smoked the new drag radials they were promoting in the burnout box, then proceeded to get waved off when he staged .......... leeking fluid like a champ on the line!!!

Didn't find out what it was, but it looked like it was coming from the front, so he probably had a radiator problem.

I was laughing my azz off thinking, would I want the car after it had a years worth of exhibition passes on it, especially after seeing that???

Congrats Lip! I really enjoyed watching your car run. And a pretty big surprise it was to take out the #1 qualifier.

I too wonder why Sgt didn't run. I saw him run only once when I got there. BTW, it was nice to meet you Steve (sorry, didn't get to say that when I was there).
