Default overheating/hesitating??? please help

did a search and no one seemed to have the same problem as me. When I run my car cold it runs fine as it starts to heat up it starts to feel slow and sluggish, like its overheating. If I get on the gas at certain rpm points it feels like the power just drops. So i changed out the thermostat and its still doing it. Brought it to the shop and they ran it around for awhile and used the heat gun on it and it reads normal. Fans are working, water pump is fine, and the radiator is not leaking. The temp gauge never goes past halfway but it still runs like crap. Once in vtec it pulls hard but I have 0 low end power any ideas on why it runs like ***? oh yea its a 94 gsr is that helps
Thanks

Take it for a rip, turn the heater to full heat when you notice it lose power. Take it easy for a couple of minutes. Lemme know if the power comes back.

That seemed to be my problem too, but since i dialed back the timing it seems to be running better. It might be detonation? What ecu are you running and what's your c/r?

I know that i'm running anywhere betwwen 11.6-11.9 c/r and I initially had my ignition timing set to 17-18 deg, but didn't take into account the aggressive timing curves of the sk2 chipped p28. So i upped the fuel pressure to 44psi at idle vacuumed attached and dropped the timing back to roughly 16 deg. The motor totally felt like it was running rich, sounded rich, and smelled rich, but the hesitation and other stuff was gone. I made a few pulls to 3rd gear with another person in the car and it was fine.

Now i dropped the fuel pressure back down to 42psi at idle vacumm attached and left the timing at roughly 16 deg. I like this way better, The motor seems like it is running like it should.

I thought it was my fuel pump going bad, but since i did all this, the problem has gone away. My idle is much better too with he ignition timing at 16. Tha's all i could suggest... hope it works out
