quieting wrist pin/ rod bearing noise?
Hi, I recently bought a 1985 Accord with only 88k miles. Anyways, I bought the car without looking it over too much because the dealership that I trust said it was a mechanically sound car, and for the price I figured what the hell. After the car warms up and is driven for awhile, there is a pinging noise coming from underneath the car. The dealership said it sounds like "lower engine noise, and could be rod bearing or wrist pin bearings".
Would an oil additive that has teflon in it help quiet the noise?.. Someone I know said he used it for awhile until he replaced his wrist pin.

rod bearing or wrist pin noises are bad enough to warrant pulling th engine apart.
Perhaps it is a heat shield vibrating or touching something.

It could be the heat shield vibrating or touching something, but I don't think so. It already stalled out on me once while I was trying to merge
The noise is really really loud once driven for awhile (while still cold it's silent). But I was just wondering if there was some kind of additive that I could add to quiet it down until I can afford to replace the motor. It's so loud it's kinda embarrasing lol.

I gave the car away for free=( I got it so cheap, paying to have the work done on it would have cost me more than the car itself. Honda Dealerships are so great... My *** hurts so much it's not even funny
