Default dont flame me plz... opinionz plz (be honest)

i been searching for a nissian 240 or a civic hatch ... what im currently looking at now

1993 240sx black $2,600
137K mi, 5spd (i dunno about coupe or fastback)

1989 240sx white $1,600
dunno mileage, 5spd (fastback)

1990 240sx black $2,500
dunno mileage, 5spd (fastback)

1992 civic hatch $2,350
194k mi, 5spd DX (blue)

these are my choice im kinda not leaning towards the civic anymore... my two choice are the 93 and the 89 ... im leading more towards the 93 cuz its the newest out of them, its got the DOHC so i dont need to worry about the power steeringline... also i like the bumper better but i heard they are a direct swap but i dunno how much it would cost for the bumper. I called the guy about the 93 and knocked it to 2200 ill try 2000 after i go tommorrow to check it out with a friend...

What does everyone think? And what should i look for? Rust, paint? dents/dings, interior? Price negotiations? Thx for any input.

haha, kind of harsh dont you think?

well, if it was me i would try to get both the 83 240 and 92 hatch.

but if you can only afford one, i would get the hatch. why you say? well, because i have no regrets about my hatch. im learning more everyday and loving it.

edit: with a 1.8 swap youll be happy

240
something about that car just seems fun...maybe rwd :-\?
but civics are great had mine since i was 15...just look at both cars and their market and what not...
hell drive both and see which one blows up first...(test-drives) then pick the other

Both are about the same in market but i think a civic would be a bit cheaper to do.

Yes it is harvard blue.

i went today to check out the 240... the first of the one i listed... Its black 93 with 138k mi it has rear qtr panel damage.. keyed driver side door all the way across the car (decently deep)...it has bald tires... front bumper doesnt fit perfectly... the headlights dont have a full housing (it has the flip up part but then the side parts are missing... umm lil dings everywhere... and 2 bad gashes... rebuilt transmission and stage 1 clutch... so i was told but the clutch was real short doesnt come up high (what does that mean he set it like that or is he lying and the clutch is dying? it catched fine ) i negogiated it only down to 2,200. i dont think i want it for that much. plus the interior was ok the driver seat cloth was redone terribly.. sigh...

The '93 sounds like a piece.

I'd buy the '89 for $1400 (edit: bet you could knock off $200)

That's hella cheap for any car.

The 240's can handle wayyyyy more boost without being built. All the motors are high milage, boost one, blow it, than put in the sr20.

I don't know much about the 240 sx, but I think if you swap the SR20 DET into it. Then there's not much part over here for it. You'll have to get them from Japan right? or the parts from SR20 DE will fit? Once again, I'm not familiar with Nissan, don't blame me.

get a 240 and do an SR20DET swap with a 3'' turbo-back exhaust piping. you will be very satisfied.

And, don't get the 2,600 dollar '93. that's way too much for that generation, esp. if it has all that **** on it.

if you get the '89, you will have problems with hooking up power steering because that year does not come equipped with power steering. if you don't care about P/S it's no biggie if you get '89. but also, the '90-'94 front looks sleeker than the '89 front IMO. but that doesn't matter if u're gettin an S13 front conversion.

good luck with the car and swap.

keep looking around.

man stfu...

so the guy wants to hear H-T's input on this, what the big deal?

anyway id go for the EG...but thats just my opinion cuz i've alwys loved that style hatch. A lot of clicks on that car, so i'd just drop in another motor and then work from there.
