Default H&R race springs with 18s

have a 6th gen sedan, looking to buying 18s [225/40/18 tires] but was told that with H&R race springs (2.2 front/1.8 back) that it will rub, anyone with a lowered 6th gen put on 18s? not really looking for 17s.

I think it all depends on the offset...

I have my car on H&R sports and 18's with a 225/40 tire and they do not rub. It rides really well considering the size of the wheels and the lack of sidewall.

I had that exact setup on my '99 coupe. It never rubbed when I had Pirelli P7000's on it. When i changed over to Nitto 555's it rubbed for a little bit till the tires wore down some.
