HOw do i take my sunroof assembly out??????
Do you have a Civic or a CRX?
Either way, it should be about the same.
For the CRX, it went like this...
1) Remove sunroof panel from tracks. I had the sunroof open and I looked under the rear of the panel - you can see the little plastic stops at the end of the tracks. They're on with 10mm bolts, and you have to get the ratchet under there to remove them. Then there are some 10mm bolts on the front of the tracks where the panel arms are attached, remove those too. After these 4 bolts are off, you can slide the panel all the way forward, pulling up on the front of it with one person on each side and it finally popped out for my dad and I.
2) With the sunroof panel gone, remove assorted interior bits - mirrors, visors, pillar trim, the little strip in the middle of the roof...these all pop out with some pulling force, they're held in by clips.
3) Remove headliner - held in by some clips and stuff. Should be easy with the pillar plastic gone. I ended up cutting mine out since it was shot.
4) You'll be able to see the whole assembly. Unplug some harnesses, loosen/remove some wires, and you should be able to see the bolts holding the tray in place (10 of them on the CRX - 2 front, 4 sides, 4 rear) around the perimeter of the sunroof tray.
5) Remove all these bolts except for 2 of the side bolts (on opposite sides of course). Get someone else to help you now - and remove those 2 remaining bolts. Tilt the front of the tray down into the passenger compartment, and unhook the rear - everything will come right out. Watch for sharp corners, cause there are some, and pull the whole thing out.
That's it!!
p.s. I hope you have a CRX, or this comes in handy for someone with a CRX... if not, then
Alex
