Default A friend of mine has a VX and is looking to convert it to a 4 wire o2 sensor......

I know there has been a thread about this floating around but I did not bother to look at it as I had no need for this conversion. But now I am in need. If someone knows how to do this conversion or has the link to that previous thread I would be greatly appreciative. Thanks

Very simple:

- WHT/RED wire goes to D14 which is O2 Sensor Input
- ORG/BLK wire goes to A6, which is Heater Control
- GRN/WHT wire goes to D22 which is Sensor Ground
- YEL/BLK wire goes to A25 which is Sensor voltage

I have a question about this part. I have a 95 VX hatch and I had to replace the sensor at about 60k, cost me a bundle to get the problem diagnosed. When similar problems cropped up at about 110k, I didn't spend a lot, just a quickie diagnosis on a trouble light and I bought the part myself for 150 at a dealer.

Now I'm having the same symptoms again(!) at 160k, so I figure I'll just go buy the part, but Honda is quoting me like 400 bucks!? So they jacked the price big time.
Do all VX's burn this part out regularly like this? If I fork out for this part, I'll have spent about 800 bucks on O2 sensors since I bought this car, which is RIDICULOUS!

And does the 4 wire sensor cost less and what do you lose if you jerry-rig it in place of a 5-wire model, which is what I have.

thx,
Duncan
