well i got the bottom end rebuilt in my h23 and i just got done putting it in... i started it up and i can hear tapping... i got under the car and it seems to be coming from the bottom end... when it was rebuilt they put in all new bairings.. so im not sure what it could be... its not a knock...just a tap or clicking noise... any opinions?

 

is it like a clicking noise? perhaps your valves need re-adjusting.

 

yeah thats what i was think to...but when i got under the car it seems like its coming from the bottom end more than the top...

 

i think it is the timing belt tension adjuster, the same thing happened to a friend of mine and that was exactly the symtoms. Try that I bet that is it
