Default Please help me on header install; please

hey

i want to buy DC 4-1 one headers and install them myself but i would appreciate it if someone with a helms manual can give me the torque spec' of the self-locking nut that attach the exaust manifold to the engine for the b18c '94+

And is $300 shipped for DC 4-1 one piece headers good? ohh and if anyone knows where i can get it cheaper would help me out alot

thanks

23 lbf*ft...$300 shipped isn't a bad price, but if you look hard enough, you could probably save $10-$20. I've seen them as low as $270 shipped before, but that was a while ago. Look on groupbuycenter.com...sometimes they have groupbuy's on DC headers and will give a pretty good price (I think the prices they're offering right now though are about the same as what you can get it for).

I wouldn't worry about using LocTite on the nuts. A few days later, you might want to re-torque them, just to make sure, but that should be ample. Exposure to that amount of heat will properly fuse the bolts, anyway. As for penetrant, I've had great success with Gunk's "Liquid Wrench" -- it saved me a bunch of trouble on my shock install last month.

When we did the DC header on my brother's Prelude ('96), we also used a big 'ol breaker bar for some of the more stubborn nuts -- worked like a charm.
