Did a search for the valve adj specs and got
.006 - .007in - Intake
.007 - .008in - Exhaust
And on some webpage I saved a while back has
.13 - .17mm - Intake
.15 - .19mm - Exhaust
Are these correct as well as the in to mm conversion?

 

i used mm when i adjusted mine ...i set the intake to 0.13mm on all in. valves
and the exhaust to 0.15mm on all ex. valves.

so yeah that looks right to me

 

the metric conversion is:
inches * 25.4 = mm

so (with rounding)
0.005" = 0.13mm
0.006" = 0.15mm
0.007" = 0.17mm
0.008" = 0.19mm

what i usually do is set the intake to 0.006" or 0.15mm and the exahust to 0.007" or 0.17mm.

 

doe sit really matter what valve lash tool is uesd? I need to order one b/c my zc is ticking like a mug

 

i use a normal feeler gauge (the straight gauge style since i can't ever find the bent gauge style that has a small enough gauge). i picked up the snap-on style valve adjustment tool from harbor frieght a while back. it def. makes things go a little bit quicker.

i've also used a screwdriver with a rachet wrench and that worked pretty good/quick, too.
