What diameter catback? Gains?

What diameter catback? Gains?
I am in need of replacing the strock exhaust and figure a catback is in order. I am not sure what size the pipe is stock but am thinking 2.25 inches for the catback.
ANyone see any gains from this? The car has a intake and Chipped ecu. Any better diameters?
