ok here goes, we have a jdm obd2 style h22. it is going in a 96 ex. the accord dist plug is 5 wires. the h22 is 9 wires. does anyone know where i can get a pinout, or a wiring conversion, what else we are missing, anything to help us on this? archived search once again netted nothing. again the players are a 96 accord ex, and a jdm obd2 style h22. is a 96 prelude dist. the same way? i am sorry i dont know as much about the accords as i should know.

yes, i foudn out that you only make it harder if you are using an Ex harness just for the sake of not having to wire the vtec up:
i wish i stuck with the lx harness and added 3 wires: then the mess i made with adding in a Ex harness:

Here is what I would do. I would disassemble the Accord distributor entirely. Remove the pick-ups and count the teeth on each of the coresponding wheels. Then I would disassemble the Prelude distributor entirely making sure the teeth on the wheels are the same (they should be) and place the Accord electronics into the Prelude casing. They should just bolt in place. There is a possibility that the Prelude will have an extra gear for a pick-up, but the Accord electronics aren't there. This should not be an issue. Do not mix up any other parts! Keep the Accord parts seperate from the Prelude parts. Reassemble the Prelude Casing with the Accord electronics. Since you are using the Accord engine wiring harness, this should keep all of the previously used sensors in their proper locations.
Or, you can send both distributors for me and I will fix it for $100

i am looking foreward to seeing someone do this. it would make my install a lot easier.
so, just to get it straight, i should be able to swap the wheels from my usdm f22b (97) into the jdm h22a (93) and have it work?

here is the problem with that. itried that already. there is only 1 pick up in the ex dist. only 1. thats all. swapping internals would be easy but there isnt 1/2 as much **** in the ex dist than there is in the h22dist. i like the lx harness idea. i think i am going to go with that idea. thanks for the help guys. take care.
