No, I agree with the length of the straights. I'm just not sure why you'd think that the ATS wouldn't work well at VIR. I loved having it last year, but then again, we didn't run the back straight either. (I assume you're speaking of the back straight near south paddock.)

That back straight would be interesting, indeed. BTW, what power figure are you making now, George?

Speeds with the ITR gearbox

Speed @8500
FD 225/45 225/50
Stock 154.5 160.6
4.785 142.1 147.7
4.9 138.8 144.2

I think I'll stick with the stock FD

Jason, is your avatar a prediction for 03?

After this past weekend, let's just say I have no excuses for giving Warren and Corey hell on their home track next month

Gaining legal horsepower was easier than I thought.

What prediction?

Back On Topic....

You can get a 4.785 FD from Leo. I'm sure he can get the ATS too.

Doesn't the JDM 98 Spec ITR Tranny have a different 3rd gear? or are you using a USDM Tranny (Same as 96 Spec JDM) but with the 98 Spec FD?

I saw a series of raced between the 96 Spec R and the 98 Spec (on the drag Strip) the 98 was quicker off the line but the 96 spec would always catch up once it hit 3rd gear. Now on the circuit the 98 SOec Ruled, but I think it was more to the larger Brakes than to the tranny differences. (but I am sure that had something to do with it.)
So given this whould it be safe to say that a 96 spec gear ratio with the 98 spec FD is a better combo than the 98 Spec tranny?

Summit

1st: Corey w/ new header, as long as his rebuild stays together
2nd: Warren, we'll see soon if he's got any more power

No offense Warren, but he's got the torque.

Why not post your graph?

Hopefully I'll prove your predictions wrong. If not, I guess I'll drop out of first.

JDM 98 spec has a 4.7FD w/ gsr 3-4-5 gear set.

Still no graph? I hope you aren't getting like some shops and race teams that won't back up the talk with numbers.

I think I see your point, if he posted great numbers and then didn't beat Warren and Corey.......

However, I think the ones with the mental edge are those who don't have a lot of $ tied up in the chasis.

Yep, Corey's definately laying down more torque, but after the new FD, I'm putting down more wheel torque at a given speed. Corey's a little crazier than I am though, so he's got an edge there

As for the ATS, it's gonna bang against the rev limiter at a few tracks. I'll be swapping out for the JDM at some of the tracks. Hell, I bet we'll be tapping out 5th at Summit. The front straight is FAST.

I can only imagine what your reaction would be if I posted a pre-Beaverun plot of my car. 10-15 less whp than Warren, and still could have had both races if the brakes hadn't went out on me.

The graph is immaterial. All that matters is that it's 100% legal power. We'll let the results speak for themselves.

BTW, have you even looked at the points lately? I think not, but have a nice day!
