balance bottomend
Finishing up my block (b18c) stock internals
new bearings/seals/gaskets/rings/type-r pistons etc
dailydriver.
Before assembly, would balancing(rotating mass) be absolutely necessary?
I had to piece the block together(bareblock), crank from another b18c and rods from another, dont know if that makes a difference.
any feedback welcome
thanx

well, the balancing process is something really good you can do, but how many RPM will this block see?
Necesary? maybe not
Would it be really good if you do it? YES
it would give you peace of mind.
Why not spend 100 bucks (or whatever price you can get) now, and save the rebuild price if something goes wrong in the future?

balancing a bottom end is a must when rebuilding engines.. its the proper way to rebuild an engine to take even more abuse.. if you really want to rev ur gsr motor make sure it gets high spun balanced.. good for 9.5 rpms..
