Default 88-89 Si Cluster Question???

Did anybody who swapped their 88-91 DX cluster with an 88-91 Si Cluster run into any problems with the thermostat guage not working? I put one in my girls car and everything worked except for the thermostat. Is this normal or did i just get a defected cluster. TIA

Mine swapped in with no problems. i have a 89 hatch DX with a 89 hatch SI cluster. Sounds like a defective cluster...try moving the needle with the ur finger..just to make sure its not stuck in the down position (just a thought).

my si cluster was wierd & broken from the prior owner installing indiglo's (no fuel guage & the tach was CRAZY) so I swapped in an HF cluster & the temp guage never reaches quite 1/2 way, it always looks liek my car runs super cool (?) I have no idea why.

its all plug N play...most people dont believe this, but it is. Everything will read correctly with a different cluster installed assuming that the donor cluster came from the appropriate years for your car (88-89 civic clusters are different than 90-91 civic clusters) and that it works correctly.
