If you got a code 17 that means there's a problem with the speed sensor, as far as I know. Check that the speedo cable is securely inside the transmission. Have you noticed on the speedo any fluctuations?

my speedometer doesnt work so i think thats it!!!! im gonna go buy a new cable cause the other one dosnt stay in the tranny. thanks raeneshawdow for your help!!! i appreciate it!!
