Quality Installation + Smart System Design + Reliable Alarm = Best Security System

This can be achieved with most alarms out there (Alpine, Autopage, Clifford, DEI, Prestige). From the equation, installation is the most important feature.

Your Guys are so Funny

Cliffort Avantguard 5= Best Alarm Ever, They will give you 25k if your car ever get jacks with a vangurd on, 3 of my firends have it, it's one of the hardest alarms to brake into. It has all the sensor and you have to type in a code whenever you leave your car, or get into your car

Take the final steps up to the very top of the G5 line: the AvantGuard 5. The Mount Everest of combined vehicle security and remote start systems, the only system in the G5 line with the SSPS Smart Self Powered Siren. Plus the protection of three sensors: OmniSensor, remotely adjustable Proximity Sensor, and Digital Tilt sensor. When the question is "What is the very best security and remote start system in the world," the answer is the Clifford AvantGuard 5!

even if you get held up at gunpoint and the thevies, don't type in the car, the car will go 1 block and slowly shut it self off. when your calling the cops, they only way to steal a car with a vangurd is a tow truck. It is so hard to get by.

Quad-Damage.....you're pretty funny yourself. Ever think about grammar lessons? JK, LOL.

The theft guarantee is really not much of selling point these days. BTW, the guarantee is only $2,500 not $25,000 and it's only applied toward your insurance deductible. So if your deductible is only $250, then you only get $250.

I also like the AG5 but out-of-the-box, it's not as secure as the older AG4 unit. Clifford left out the important feature that was standard on the AG4. It's the wireless immobilizer. This is needed to make a car as secure as possible. You can still get as an option but it would have been nice to have as a standard feature. Also, there's not much difference between the AG4 and AG5. The siren is slightly smaller, FACT is now FACT2 - better at handling false alarms, the tilt sensor is different and headlight automation and built-in window roll-up are gone. One other difference worth mentioning.....the AG5 won't leave you stranded if the brain starts having problems. You will be able to start the car but still have the ignition and starter circuits secured if the brain is tampered with.

With all this said....the key is still installation quality. If critical alarm components are easy to get to then it doesn't matter what alarm you have. An AG5 will all of the options included should be around the $1500 for a top-notch installation job and will take 2-3 days.

Quad-Damge... you sure it's not up to $2500, or maybe even $25,000 *to cover your insurance deductable if the car is stolen and not recovered*? Otherwise, I wouldn't believe the claim as a roll-back can just pull the car on and drive away. No alarm will stop that.

As for someone saying Viper sucks, personally I love them. They are great alarms, and we've never had a problem with them. not to mention the installation booklet is awsome, espically when compaired to alot of other alarms/remote starts out there (auto loc, audiovox, etc).

Oh, and a side note, clifford is owned by DEI, along with alot of other brands, but all of DEI and their sub groups got bought out by Audiovox (atleast from what I read). All I have to say is I hope to all hell audiovox doesn't make DEI change the installation book to look more like theirs.... that would totally bite.

same thing the vipers have, called Vehical Recovery System (VRS for short). if you have it enabled either by the user, or they can come back and you can use the BitWriter to program it, all the user has to do is arm the vehical after starting. Drive along, someone forces you out of the car? (IE> door is opened w/o the alarm being shut off) Not a problem. 15 seconds later the alarm starts chirping. 30 seconds after that it starts going off and doesn't shut up. This delay is used to make sure you can get away from the situation and to safety before it all goes down. Once the car is shut off it wont' start up agian.

Is it called a Viper 790 VX, all it is a Viper 550 with a pager add on, it's not even a full 1/4 range, test it inside a mall, u won't get paged.

And ur right it's a 2,500 thing, 1 to many 0's

Cliffort = Best Alarm for the money.
Cliffort Avangurd 5 with all the extras + Low Jack + GPS Locater + Club + Autolocker + Car Boot = 99.99999% Unsteable Car

But thats going to cost u alot.

Alarms are good and all, but u need to layer what you have on.
Club and Autolockers are not bad things to have, but they should be extras with a good alarm to stay simi safe.

I'm an installer at a shop and have been doing this for like 6 years now. All i got to say is this........

A 20 dollar alarm....WELL hidden in a car.....properlly installed.......will do a MUCH better job of a a 1300 dollar alarm installed right under the dashboard.

Clifford was bought out by DEI...so everything is the same thing now. You can take a clifford brain, use viper wiring, hornet sensors..its all the same crap now. A good alarm is determined by how it is installed. You have to get creative when it comes to installing alarms. Only way possible to steal my VW...is to tow it or flatbed it. Unless you are me, or someone else and tear apart the whole car...you will never find my alarm brain, or see any wiring under the dash.

Just get something DEI...just for the fact theres so many accesories for a DEI alarm out there..most of them plug n play.

And over priced crap?.........your paying for quality.

Take a closer look. Not all Clifford models are DEI-based. The G5 and G4 series still use technology from when Clifford was a separate entity. The wire harnesses, sirens, modules, and most sensors are all different and won't work on other DEI models.

Your comments support what I have always said.....INSTALLATION QUALITY is the most important feature of any alarm system.
