4th quarter release. The off-season will be fun this year.
:EDIT: Damnit, calling bs on myself, did a little more research and it looks like the list is spurious, not genuine, and worth...f..k all. Sorry.

anybody else notice (how could you not notice...) all the Gran Tourismo 4 billboards at LeMans?
My only hope is that they tighten up the handling and physics of the game. Racing sims have advanced by leaps and bounds over the past 4 or 5 years but GT has just about stayed the same.

Actually, there is a great article about GT4 and an interview with its creator Kazunori Yamauchi in the June EVO magazine. Here are some quotes:
"The engine has been refined for GT4, which according to Yamauchi means it generates a very accurate simulation or each car, which in turn means lap times in the game are extremely close to what real cars would achieve in real life. If it sems strang to think a time you've set in your living room around Laguna Seca would translate accurately to the realtrack, it's even more freaky to think that if if ever someone built a real-life Trial Mountain (Yamauchi's ultimate fantasy circuit), you'd not only know what time you should be turning in your R34 Skyline GTR, but also what camber changes you'd need to dial-out the scrubby understeer through turn 4."
"By the time they've finished, more than a thousand cars will have been documented for inclusion, making GT4 many times larger than all the previous generations of the game combined."
I cannot wait.
(btw, if you guys are not reading the British car magazine evo, you are mising the best automobile magazine out there today in my opinion.)

This is OT, but does anyone know which real-life track the Mid-Field Raceway is modeled on? It's the same as in real life, but with a bit more straightaway to make it more exciting for the game.
So this is for PS2 for sure? (that web site was "too busy", couldn't see it.)
I hope so because I bough my ps2 for GT3 when it came out (yep, I have only 1 game), so I don't want to have to get another system for this one!

Glad to hear I'm not alone!

I too have those games, and the Logitech wheel. I also read the EVO article. American car magazines could really take lessons from EVO. Too bad it costs so much.
Yeah the list above was someone's wish list. Good news is that there will be that many cars or more according to the EVO article. Hope the real car list is as diverse as the one above. Bring on the BMWs, Ferrari's, 50's and 60's sports and formula racers, hell anything but a Daihatsu!

Here is a link to a preview of GT4

and to early development images and videos

S2k
Sweet Grand Canyon Rally
Supposed to have 500+ cars and the review lists 25 that were available for the demo. The steering wheel also sounds cool.
Probably a year away though
