Default Went from a 00' ITR to a 03' Cobra to a.....

I started having problems with my ITR after about 3 years of fun filled driving and decided to dip into the domestic side of things for a while. I bought a 03' Cobra back in Jan. and traded the ITR in. The Cobra was more than what I ever expected it to be. I dynoed 390 HP to the wheels bone stock, but things come to a end sooner or later. I started having problems with the car at 5000 miles and couldn't get the delaer(s) to fix it properly. I finally got tired of dealing with it and traded it in last Sat. on a Rally Red Evo 8.

I am very impressed with this car. I thought I'd never find another car and feel the way I did about my ITR, but I think that has changed. The amount of grip and just the handling of this car is amazing. The steering is so fast it makes my Cobra feel like I was steering in slow motion or something. I now have better handling, better braking, more power, turbo, AWD, and four doors. I couldn't have made a better choice IMO. There was a 2000 PY ITR on the used lot I bought my EVO at, but I remembered how I drove mine so I figured the same for it as well.

I will try to post some pics of it as soon as I get a good coat of Zaino on it and get it all shined up for you guys.

How do you figure that? The STI has a new motor in it so no one can talk about the reliability of it as of now. The 4G63 is a proven motor that can handle upwards of 400 hp or more when tuned right. There are many DSM's here with over 100K miles on the motor running crazy boost running in the 7's in the 1/8 that aren't blowing up. To be honest, ever turbo car is a ticking time bomb when modded and not tuned right.

The only complaint I have about the car is the tail lights. Those will be replaced with EVO 7 tail lights ASAP.

Not a bad choice. I've heard that the EVO has great potential even over it's stock form.

Although I'm a little sad that you had problems with the Cobra... I really like them.

Its just with mitsu cranking up boost to 19 psi, that just sounds a little risky to me. As opposed to the sti with ony at about 14 I think....its just the lesser of 2 evils . Now dont get me wrong in anyway!!!! I love that car and if I had a bottomless pocket, I would also have one in my driveway!

What were the 6 and 7's running in terms of boost? I mean they really have not changed power output through the generations...if I remember correctly. I know the VII had about 276 and a ton of tq...but I think all the way back down to the EVO III or IV, they have stayed at the hp output. The tq i rememebr changing...but not the HP.
Please correct me if I am wrong, but I dont Remember how much boost they have been putting down....
