Why do you need a roll cage anyways? Your stock safety equipments sufficient for street driving.
A roll cage (let alone the rats nest that you describe) would most likely reduce your safety on the streets.
Joe, who will have some AWS certs in three weeks and has some serious questions about roll bar fabrication.

If you aren't racing or tracking the car, I'd suggest that you skip the rollcage. They're a pain in a daily driver, and are dangerous to you & passengers unless you're in a 5-point harness and helmet.
If you absolutely have to have something, get a bolt-in rollbar, not cage, from Kirk or Auto-power. Unless you really know what you're doing (and your question leads me to believe you don't) designing your own rollbar would be very dangerous.
