i assume this is from my axle... which has to be done by now... it's really bad. there is a horrible clicking / knocking noise until i accellerate or brake..

this is the axle right?

i obviously shouldn't drive on this until it's fixed, right?

how much are these going to cost me if i go to autozone or something?

usually clicking is cause by torn CV boot, look under the car and see if you see any torn boot and a lot of grease

So it goes away if your driving or braking but makes a cliking sound when just idling? Usually its the axle if your turning and its clicking.

 

no it clicks when i coast... i am pretty sure it's the axle. the boot is torn. how much will it cost to replace the axle?

 

not much..just get a rebuilt axle from shucks/kragen/checker...lifetime warranty...they work fine.

 

Get a rebuilt one.

You take off the broken axle and take it in as a "core" and they will charge you probably between $60-75. If you don't give them your broken axles then you will end up paying about $140-150.

Get axles with a lifetime warranty because they go bad a lot.
