h23 timing help
Looking for any ideas. Just replaced timing belt, h20 pump, and adjusted valves. Got it all back togeather and seems to run great until I get above 4000. I have to advance my dist all the way to get it to run like this, if I back off at all I start losing even more rpm and engine stalls @ idle when coming up to a stop. I think I have the belt on correct, but it seems like this behavior would be caused by being off by a tooth on either my exhaust cam or my crank.
I guess what I'm looking for is experience. If I was off one tooth on the crank wouldn't that lead me to interference and valvetrain damage. I am trying to narrow down the possible causes for this lack of top end.
Need experience please. (H23A1 IN 93 SI 4WS)
